I recently treated a friend to afternoon tea at Woodborough Hall as a thank-you for her friendship and support. As someone with gluten intolerance, I’m often cautious about where I eat, especially when it comes to something like afternoon tea. But from start to finish, our experience was wonderful. There was no fuss at all about providing gluten-free options. Everything was clearly separated from my friend’s food and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming throughout our visit. My friend has a disability, and as soon as we arrived, the staff immediately asked how they could assist with getting up the stairs. She remarked how kind and thoughtful that was - sadly, not something we experience everywhere we go. The owners have clearly put a lot of care into restoring this beautiful hall. The décor is elegant and tasteful, and on the sunny day we visited, the gardens looked absolutely stunning. A solid 10 out of 10 from both of us. Huge thanks to the staff for making our afternoon so special.

We recently (14th June 2025) enjoyed our daughters and her fiancés wedding at Woodborough Hall. I cannot praise Woodborough Hall enough as all staff were amazing and went the extra mile again and again. The build up to the wedding was stress free as they dealt with everything, the tables looked amazing in the orangery and the food was fantastic. Delicious canapés and excellent food in the evening finished off the catering. Most importantly were the personal touches and the service from all staff throughout this experience, always smiley, helpful nothing was too much trouble just outstanding in every way! We also stayed overnight so I can say the rooms were fantastic too as was the breakfast next morning. The staff cleared everything up from the wedding and left in a separate room for us to take home the next day. If you’re looking for an intimate yet stress free venue for a wedding reception with outstanding food and friendly professional staff then look no further, Woodborough Hall is the place I’d recommend .

Had a wonderful afternoon tea with two friends. A glorious setting and splendid tea. All staff were courteous, friendly and the service outstanding. Compliments to the chef for wonderful food and cakes. Even given a box for remaining cakes we couldn't manage. Thank you all.

Mother’s Day afternoon tea was a delightful experience, the little cup of soup and canapés was a nice entree before the afternoon tea, nice selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones, the lemon tart was particularly nice as were the scones. Beautiful setting and a sunny afternoon enabled us to have a glass of fizz on the patio. A wonderful treat from my son and partner.

Went for afternoon tea which was excellent. Pets allowed on the patio eating area. Grounds were well maintained, had expected more outdoor area to walk and explore though. Plenty of on site free car parking.

Yesterday my family hosted lunch at WH to congratulate and to console me on my 80th birthday anniversary. Our lunch was cooked and presented and served as if at one of London’s principal hotel dining rooms ( Claridges compares favourably in my experience ) but by exceedingly pleasant and attentive staff … meaning those at Woodborough Hall yesterday. Five stars indeed ! NM

We went for my father in law's 90th birthday. The staff could not have been any more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they kept a table where we wanted and also let us use the lounge. They went out of the way and the day was very special. We had the three course meal and the food was excellent. I can recommend the pork. A shout out to the girl on reception and the two girls in the restaurant. Sorry don't know their names but thank you to them all.

We came for afternoon tea for my mum's birthday, and had the absolute best time. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs, despite other the patrons and a wedding taking place, and my mum felt really spoilt by such brilliant service. (Special shout-out to Jenny and Matt, who couldn't have been more attentive). The afternoon tea itself was utterly delicious, with an amazing tea selection. A couple of glasses of champagne and a cheeky cocktail each in the snug (which we had to ourselves) rounded off a lovely afternoon. Thanks so much for making my mum's birthday so special!
